Al-Shabaab is known for all sorts of atrocities and the very existence of this terrorist group causes disgust among people in East Africa. The Somali-based al-Qaeda affiliated group engages in kidnapping, rape and murder to add to their ruthless portfolio. This terrorist group knows no bounds! Recent attacks in Somalia suggest that Al-Shabaab is targeting more women and children, a significant detail indicating that the terrorist group has had a change of tactics.

The epitome of Al-Shabaab’s atrocious acts has been recently felt when the terrorist group killed 3 Muslim women in Mogadishu’s Daynile district and 2 were pregnant. The terrorist group showed and shows no empathy when it comes to the sanctity of innocent lives.

Elsewhere, County officials in Wajid district in the Bakool region in southwestern Somalia pointed blame at Al-Shabaab, who are said to have targeted a family because the father was a Somali National Army federal soldier. None of the family members were spared by the terrorist group.

In another case, a pregnant woman survived a car bombing in an attempted ambulance attack, as it made its way to Elwak Referral Hospital in Mandera county, Kenya. The woman in labor was being rushed to the hospital when they went through a road that had been planted with IED’s next to the hospital. It is alleged that the woman is a wife to a prominent businessman in Mandera County.

Sources say that Al-Shabaab has a refined mission to murder and rape women in both Somalia and the Northern Kenya region who do not support their cause.  The fact that they kill Muslim women shows that the cause they claim to be fighting for, is nothing but a false belief, a false Islam doctrine that should be dismissed and condemned. They, the Al-Shabaab only want to dictate their selfish inhumane agenda.
